Wood Fence Panels -Affordable Privacy & Security

When considering the installation of wood fence panels, security and privacy concerns are first and foremost in most peoples’ minds. To execute installation of wood fence panels, the following process can be followed. Determine where to place each post by calculating the length needed for each panel and marking up the ground where each post is to be placed. Secure a marker in each position of a fence post. A string can be drawn taught from end-to-end to ensure a straight line. Stakes can be used to mark the post locations.

For digging fence posts, a fence post auger can be used. Specialized shovels are also available but the time for digging by hand will be significantly increased. Once post holes are dug, the posts should be placed and carefully leveled from trap to trap. Next place dry cement into the whole and pack the cement tightly. Use a garden hose to cover the fence with water -following directions on the bag- and leave the post overnight to set.

If the ground the fence is being installed on is uneven, then height offsets can be used to maintain fence bottoms at 90 degree angles to the horizontal plane. If instead, you decide to hang the panels in a stepped fashion, then the panel bottoms should be cut when complete to maintain a standard clearance from the ground. It’s important that the panels not contact the ground directly to avoid the onset of rot.
